Endowment Update

For 2020, the Endowment Committee received 20 grant requests for funding. These were received by our due date of December 31, 2019. After reviewing the requests, the Endowment Committee recommended that 18 of the grants be funded. These recommendations were approved by Church Council. At the end of March, the organizations were informed of our decision and it is anticipated checks will be sent to organizations in April. The organizations receiving funding for 2020 are:

St. Luke LCY (Youth Space in Ministry House)

Lighthouse Ministries

First Friday Homeless Event-Lighthouse Min.

House of Hope of the Pee Dee

Child Evangelism Fellowship

Florence County Disabilities

Habitat for Humanity

House of Refuge

iHope Christian Care

Lutheran Services

Mercy Medicine

Naomi Project

Pee Dee Coalition

Senior Citizens

SpeciallyABLED Ministries

Youth Mentors Association

The total amount of grants approved totaled $142,200. This represents 5% of principal funds in the Endowment Fund as of December 31, 2019 and is within limits set by Endowment Policies.

The 2020 Endowment Committee consists of Tom Ewart, Howard Efrid, Idette Tucker, Gail Fowler and John Lindner. Please contact them with any questions or comments.
